Autoresponder Choices
You have several options when considering autoresponders. The first decision you need to make is whether you want to pay for a service or if you want your autoresponder on your server. There are advantages and disadvantages to each of these choices.

SERVICES:

AWeber: Is an excellent autoresponder service. I have recently switched over to their service. They have an easy to use control panel and excellent service help.

I particularly like the templates they provide for html emails. They also will run each message through their spam filter which allows you to check each message before you put it in the queue. You have the option of adding the message to your RSS feed, a cool feature. You can blast emails, track emails, track clickthrough, etc. For $19.95/month, it is the best deal.

My only recommendation to AWeber would be to further simplify the control panel.
Following Up: Following up is a simple, straight forward autoresponder. I used them for a long time because they had a $12.95/month version which was nice to use when my income was limited.

The disadvantage of the $12.95 version was that you could not blast immediately, you needed to schedule the blast for the following day. (If you aren't in a hurry, this should work well for you.)

If you upgrade, your monthly fee would be $19.95. At that price I would definitely go with AWeber.
GetResponse: GetResponse has a free version and a paid version. Many people like them but I found their site confusing. I have the professional version for several months and never was able to navigate easily.

SendFree: Sendfree offers a free solution. The problem with their free service is that you will have advertising with your autoresponder. Signup here for a demonstration.

You can pay for their professional service. At a rate of $19.95/month, I would go with AWeber.

SERVER SOFTWARE

If you want to have more control, install software on your own server. You either have to know what you are doing or hire someone to install the software for you. The real advantage, if you have your own IP address, is that you do not risk being shut down because someone else on your service is sending out SPAM.

AutoResponsePlus: This software is the Cadallac of autoresponder software. The cost is about $200 for a year's license. I would strongly recommend that you hire an installer. (Matt Bacek highly recommends this product to all his clients.)
Autoresponder Unlimited: This software is less expensive but still has many nice features.
